Reduced earning capacity pension - The role of the partnership context in access risk

Around 1.8 million people in Germany received a reduced earning capacity pension in 2022. At the same time, more and more people in Germany are living alone. This trend can lead to a precarious financial and social situation in the event of reduced earning capacity.

To date, there have only been a few studies that take into account the partnership, household and/or family context of people with reduced earning capacity. It can be assumed that the risk of receiving a reduced earning capacity pension is also linked to the partnership context. The project analyses how - in addition to individual factors - the partnership context influences the risk of receiving a reduced earning capacity pension. For this purpose, data from the SOEP-RV is used and survival analysis methods are applied.
